We want to provide you with some general information about our beloved village Mastihari and after that we give you some directions which can be useful to you.
In general
We are located at the North side of the Island of Kos and 18 km. away from busy Kos Town. Originally Mastihari is a fishing harbour and still is, but on a smaller scale than in the early days. Tourism is now the main business but with a typical Greek local flavour. Mass tourism is out of the question and even though the harbour is quit busy, you will not really notice.
Mastihari offers you nice and quiet beaches, typical Greek restaurants with a variety of local dishes, bars, a few super markets and the obvious tourists shops.
The sandy beaches are a paradise for kids and sun lovers. The sea is gradually getting deeper, no surprises. Sun beds and umbrellas are for rent, the bars and restaurants are near and open from early morning until late evening. You certainly don't want to miss out on the beautiful sunset Mastihari has to offer!
There is a possibility to go (kite) surfing, kayak and catamaran sailing at the surf station.
At the harbour you can still see our fishermen selling their daily catch!
In Mastihari itself we don't have a ATM (cash) machine but you can get cash at the exchange offices with a credit card. For taking cash money at ATM machines you need to go to Antimacheia or the villages situated on the road to Kos (Marmari, Tingaki) or in the centre of Zipari where the main road will lead you to.
